Life Cafe

Recently, city boy and I is frequently out for supper. Why? That's because of busy working schedules and we only get to sit down and eat, take a break when its supper time.
This is a new branch opening just few shops away from NK, seen many cars there so we decided to go for a try, only to find out the real reason so many cars were there is because of the tuition centre beside.
But anywhere, it opens till 1130pm which is one reason we are there, cos most shop is on their closing mode by the time we are free to take our meals.
The menu, with woody feel...actually when we stepped into the cafe, its like a time machine, bringing us back to time where bamboo chairs and tables are used, but indeed it was nicely decorated, with a homely and cozy feeling.

Look at just how cute those teapots are!

The eating area.

Claypot rice...taste rather nice just a little dry
Green tea, to wash down the fats from eating a heavy supper.

Satisfied with the food and the ambience of the cafe.

Mango Tree, Thai Restaurant

d2.TV
We had always drive passed this place, and it looks nice from the exterior, but we have never made the attempt to dine here. Well, since it was mother's day, why not try something other than our normal chinese food, therefore we opt for Thai.
Very spacious restaurant, whereby you will have your own privacy as the tables are all rather far apart. Nice and quiet atmosphere suitable for gatherings with friends and family.

Black Coffee
Ice Lemon Tea

This is the so called pineapple rice. Surprisingly it is not stored in a pineapple shell, but anywhere it was really delicious. I believe it would suit the taste bud of those who adore chinese food.
This is the pandan chicken. It comes in a plate of 5.

This is the all so famous tom yam gong. I would prefer it to be more of hot and sour instead of this kinda sweet and sour taste. For those who don't really like spicy food but long to try this dish, you can have it here.
Butter prawn. I can't wait to eat this once again. It is so creamy and the prawns are so fresh and juicy.
A nice place to have Thai food, the food and the environment makes up for the bill. It will be a worthwhile visit.

My Mum Can SMS!!!

d2.TV
This morning, when I reached my workplace, I decided to browse through the net, searching for Mother's Day deal as it was almost Mother's Day. Plan to celebrate with mum tomorrow. Well, anywhere the thing was, I sms my sis to get her to ask my mum about her choice of food, Chinese, Thai or Western.
It was all suppose to be a surprise! Who knows my sis didn't reply. I waited and waited, 15 minutes pass, 20 minutes pass, 25 minutes was gone. Finally after 30 mins I got a reply saying that she as in my sis was very busy. I was a little surprise as sis never talk to me in such a way, we were always doing things together and never would she say that she has no time for me.
Guess who was it reading and replying to my messages.....it was MUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So there goes our surprise dinner for her....she knew it....hahaha but luckily we haven't decide where to take her yet...so plan not completely known...
I really didn't know, since when my mum learn to sms....amazing...learning it secretly hahaha, didn't know my mum was so up to date!! Well, anywhere I am glad to have her as a mum, bringing us joy and laughter always...not only is she a wonderful mum , she is now also a part time daddy to us......till we all meet our dad in times to come once again.
Happy Mother's Day in advance!!!!!

Three Points Restaurant

d2.TV
Recently days were hectic, busily caught up in work. Little time left for me to even visit my blog, yet to say writing in a new post. Will anywhere, this time its about Three Point Restaurant, located at the same row of shops with After 3!. The food in 3 Points, I would say not bad, and its only differences with The Banquet is it serves pork.
This was the shredded chicken noodle. One dish that I would definitely go back for more. The amazing taste of the sauce and the freshness of the chicken and prawn makes it even tastier, not to mention the noodle that come in a just right condition, not too hard not too soft.

This was the sea cucumber soup. Well, other than its loaded with sea cucumber, I would say it taste just like any other restaurants' sea cucumber soup.

Taufu with prawns and scallops. Our all time favourite, especially my little sis, she just cant resist this dish.

Braised sea cucumber with mix vege and cashew nuts.
There was also the butter prawn which was so yummy, we didn't take any pictures as we were too busy eating and our hands were too dirty.
Nice restaurant with a nice view, recommended for family dinners.

Yeow Kee Kopitiam @ 101

d2.TV
So after long working days, finally both me and Cityboy had our off days. Cityboy said that he had this sudden craved towards Sarawak Laksa, therefore off we went for our breakfast at Yeow Kee Kopitiam @ Premier 101.
This place was indeed full of people even at 9am on weekdays. It was on this rare occasion that we usually see this, but not for this particular place, it is always full with people buzzing around. We even had to share our table with some others. This might be something common in KL or Ipoh but certainly not in Kuching. Anywhere Cityboy went to order laksa. The counter shown in the picture is selling a wide variety of local kuihs and curry puffs. You can also find toasts and half boiled eggs here.

We both ordered Teh-C and too our surprise it cost only RM1.00 each. It is consider rather cheap with its size and its tastiness.
This is the Laksa, ordered by Cityboy. It tasted GOOD. The prawns were fresh and juicy, while the thick curry soup based was filled with its fragrance and thick coconut milk and yet just the right level of spiciness. With a squeeze of the limau kasturi, it tasted perfect!
A laksa worth a try!
The siew mai is also really good...its all lean meat...seems like chicken breast to me. the meat are sweet and tender and you really could taste its freshness.
A place worth a try, nice food which won't cost your pocket a hole.

Station One Leisure Cafe @ Hills

After the many many days of hectic schedules, finally Cityboy and I managed to get a day where we could enjoy our lunch. Station One had been opened for quite awhile but since we have never put our foot there just yet, we decided to check it out.
This is how it looks like, a rather quiet noon as basically only Cityboy and I, and another table of school girls. But towards the night it will be crowded as it opens till 3a.m.
This is the other side of the cafe, equipped with its very own stage where performers are welcomed. But due to the fact that we went during lunch, therefore no performance was held. I guess its only happening towards the night.
There are also various offers for beers.
Most of the offers are during the night.
But neither of us are interested in the beers...so look what we have ordered. We both ordered the yestea as it says a must-try!
This is the 'Yestea'.
There is Cityboy looking rather satisfied with his BIG cup of yestea as he drinks real fast. He is able to gulp down a cup of cold drink in less than one minute...
And thats me...wandering how am I to finish the cup of thingy.
We ordered a pizza for our lunch, taste yummy but it takes quite a while. Anywhere we are happy with how it taste so the little waiting time is worth it.
A closer look at it.

Taipei 101 @ RH Plaza

Again due to Cityboy's busy working schedule, so we decided to catch a quick lunch together. I suggested going to one near his workplace, to prevent getting caught in the traffic, therefore we head off to RH plaza.
Another of the many Taiwanese eating place which are mushrooming in Kuching, Taipei 101, named after the famous landmark in Taipei
A peak into its menu...
Both Chris and I decided to opt for its famous pork chop rice this time.
I personally love it, as the pork chop is made from lean meat, totally no fatty meat at all, but I think Chris prefer it vice versa.
And this is the green tea, personally I love the way they place it in a jug, same goes for city boy.
This is how it looks like, casual style dining....

Old Town @ Hills Shopping Mall

Recently Chris has been so busy with his tight working schedule that we barely had time for dinners or movies... but well no matter how busy a cup of coffee definitely boost up your day.
So we head off to Hills Shopping Mall with our queen and princess for a meal @ Oldtown.
So as expected we ordered the white coffee 'gao', but my mum prefers nan yang coffee, she has a thing against milk in coffee I guess...
Quite a variety of food offered other than coffee itself, here's a shot on the menu.
These are some of the side dishes, but we were all very hungry, therefore main course it is...
So there our energy booster....old town's coffee is still the best! Remember many years back, when I first when to Cityboy's hometown...I love old town's white coffee and the dimsum offered at its very own coffee shop and now ... its like an international thingy...
Old town curry mee... yummy but a little too spicy for my taste....
A closer look...quite a big portion...I can never finished it without cityboy's help.
This is the old town curry rice, thick santan rice for santan lovers....
Curry chicken with potato...mum's must eat @oldtown
This is the Hainan Chicken Chop rice, little princess loves it..but for me I only favours the egg...taste a little like sweet and sour chix.
Nice place with a nice environment.

Xian Ting Wei @ Spring Shopping Mall

Having a thing for Taiwanese food, both Chris and I decided to have our lunch via the rather new Taiwanese Tea Room@Spring Shopping Mall.
A nicely decorated tea room with a touch of oriental deco, modern yet traditional I would say.
They offer quite a variety of Taiwanese famous dishes, ranging from the very popular Taiwanese Crispy Salted Chicken to pork chops, seafoods and even congee.
Both Chris and I seem to agree upon having huge Tiger Prawns for our lunch.
Chris waiting for his lunch...he was rather reluctant to have his photo shoot though, but with my pleads...ta-da...
and that was his lunch, two big gigantic prawns, soup and some side dishes with rice.
Me waiting patiently for mine too!
I opt for 'lu rou fan' instead of white rice. Much tastier, but too bad Chris is on his diet ... which explains why no 'lu rou fan' for him.
Side dish which is inclusive in the set meals.
This is the 'lu rou fan' which made Chris' mouth waters ...
Chris enjoys these yummilicious prawns but for me it was a little spicy. But overall the prawns were fresh and juicy which made both of us give it double thumbs up.
Soup, which taste sweet and fresh, both of us were not very sure what was it but it taste kinda like lotus soup.

Satisfied with the meal, Chris and I thought that it was rather good. The bill turns out to be less than RM50, so we thought it was great.
Nice food, good atmosphere and reasonable price!
